ABOUT IMPACT 100
PENSACOLA BAY AREA
Community
Assessment and Service
Members of
IMPACT 100 Pensacola Bay
Area are given the
opportunity to learn about
the various needs that exist
in our community. As
non-profits apply for grant
funding, members work
together to find solutions
to assure a better quality
of life for all concerned.
By better understanding our
community needs and
providing significant
resources, IMPACT 100
Pensacola Bay Area members
can make a difference in the
lives of others.
Collectively Funding
Charitable Initiatives
By pooling
our resources to create one
large gift, we hope to have
an impact in our community.
As individuals, we may not
ever have the opportunity to
give on a large scale, but
collectively we are able to
make significant grants to
help the community. Mirrored
after IMPACT 100 Cincinnati,
our organization’s basic
concept is to recruit a
minimum of 100 members
annually, have each donate
$1,000 a year and pool those
resources to make a grant to
at least one worthy
Pensacola Bay Area
non-profit organization at
the end of each year. Every
dollar donated by the
members is passed on
directly in the grant.
Administrative expenses are
covered by interest earned
on the collective fund,
“friends of” gifts of less
than $1000 and corporate
gifts. In 2004, Impact 100
granted two $116,500 grants
to two area non-profits!
Effective
Philanthropy
IMPACT 100
Pensacola Bay Area hopes to
increase effective
philanthropy in our
community. We invite women
to participate and be
involved at a level
appropriate to their
individual needs. We
encourage them to structure
their participation in a way
that compliments their
interest and schedule. Women
who do not have the time or
opportunity to participate
in IMPACT 100 Pensacola Bay
Area’s committee process can
still be involved by voting
in the final selection
process at the annual
meeting. We believe that
through involvement (at any
level), members will enjoy a
true sense of satisfaction
by giving back to the
community and seeing the
impact of those actions
address a particular need in
our community. In addition,
we hope that through the
research and due diligence
of our organization, we are
able to raise awareness
among our members and the
community of the many
worthwhile non-profits
serving the Pensacola Bay
Area. We also hope that this
initiative will encourage
members to get involved in a
more personal way with
non-profits seeking
assistance. IMPACT 100
Pensacola Bay Area members
are encouraged to serve on
the boards of area
non-profits and personally
donate to their efforts
should they feel compelled
to make a more direct
contribution to that
organization.
The
Foundation
IMPACT 100
Pensacola Bay Area was
created to identify a
minimum of 100 members
(donors), each of whom will
donate $1000.00 a year. The
membership fee is due by
March 1 of each year and
invested in a CD, money
market or Treasury for that
year. The interest earned on
this money will be used to
cover all administrative
costs of the organization.
The entire membership fee is
awarded to a worthy
non-profit organization
selected by the membership
at our annual meeting in
October.
