Every April, IMPACT 100 Pensacola hosts a workshop open to all nonprofit organizations in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties as part of our mission “to know and serve the community.” The program includes an inspirational guest speaker, details of the grant cycle, application requirements and instructions, panel of previous grant recipients, and IMPACT 100 board members to answer your questions.
This year we are delighted to have Dr. Irvin Williams and Ms. Emily Lalas as our Guest Speakers.
Dr. Williams has more the 45 years of experience as a clinician, administrator, educator, and consultant in the areas of mental health and substance abuse treatment and prevention programming, community development, human resource development, diversity training, evaluation, and grantsmanship.
Formally trained as a clinical/community psychologist at the University of Cincinnati, Dr. Williams has applied his knowledge and skills in a variety of settings including, community based mental health and substance abuse agencies, private, state and federal hospitals, criminal justice institutions, colleges and universities, municipal governments and private practice in the United States and Caribbean. He is a Certified Addictions Professional and an internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Community development activities ranging from economic development to social and health promotion include: the development and implementation of a Community Development Corporation, development and facilitation of anti- racism community groups, development of community coalitions to prevent violence, substance abuse and the spread of HIV/AIDS.
Emily Lalas is a graduate of the University of West Florida and is an accountant with Saltmarsh, Cleaveland and Gund. She specializes in helping clients within the nonprofit sector with their financial reporting requirements. As a Pensacola native, she is excited about contributing to the next stage of growth for our community. She is passionate about using her accounting background and Board service experience to help nonprofit organizations develop sustainable strategies to achieve their missions and maximize their impact. Her presentation is titled “Telling Your Story Through Financial Reporting.”
