Rotary Centennial Playground

Rotary Club of Pensacola Foundation, Inc.

Rotary is a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps build goodwill and peace in the world. Rotary Pensacola is the "Downtown" Club and has been supporting the community for 100 years.

Project Description

Fund the foundation for the Rotary Centennial Playground on 6+ acres at Community Maritime Park (CMP). The Playground is ADA accessible with universal design play features for children of all ages. IMPACT 100 funds purchased a rubberized, protective matting for the playground area. The flooring surface will be of durable, comfortable, and safe rubber matting, designed for playgrounds and to afford maximum accessibility.

Community Impact

This playground supports Rotary's goal to improve access to recreational opportunities for persons of all ages, backgrounds and abilities in the downtown area. RCPF feels this playground will address the chronic obesity issue in children and will provide an environment downtown where children of different backgrounds can interact. RCPF had funds to complete the playground, but the IMPACT 100 funds provided an amazing flooring. The playground will be maintained by full-time staff from the City of Pensacola.
