“We continue to give away 100 percent of the membership dollars,” explains Cyndi. In addition, she notes, “We are the only IMPACT group that gives a site visit to every organization that applies.”
So a woman who chooses to join is getting a return on her dollar that is hard to beat. She donates $1,000 to the organization, knowing that every penny will be invested back into her community. And she knows the money isn’t given in vain since no project IMPACT Pensacola Bay Area has invested in has ever failed — probably due to an in-depth analysis of each organization’s sustainability.
This year, the group is pouring $1,060,000 into 10 area projects. It’s an accomplishment of which Cyndi is proud.
“IMPACT 100 is the most efficiently run organization I have ever been involved in,” says Cyndi, who joined the organization in 2007 and is halfway through her tenure as president. “With no paid staff, the Board of Directors, member volunteers and community supporters make our mission come to fruition.”
While running the local IMPACT group could be a full-time job in itself, Cyndi also is a Certified Public Accountant with the Pensacola office of Warren Averett, where she is a partner and managing member.
Much like her work with IMPACT, it is her team and those she serves who make her job a passion rather than just a paycheck.
A lifestyle of giving was planted early in Cyndi’s life while growing up in Bratt, about 45 minutes north of Pensacola.
“I come from a very generous family. My mom and dad taught me at an early age the importance of sharing our blessings and abundance with those who were not as fortunate,” she says, adding that Warren Averett CPA incorporates “sharing our success” as one of its core values.
“I have had a lot of great opportunities to give back, both in my personal life and with Warren Averett,” says Cyndi, who has also volunteered with PACE Center for Girls for many years.
Of course, to maintain a rigorous schedule of work and volunteerism requires refueling sessions. Faith, family and friends all nourish Cyndi’s soul — and an occasional day letting worries drift away on area waters.
“I love the beach! My favorite days are spent at the beach with my family and friends. We love to paddle board, relax and enjoy the beautiful sunsets that Pensacola Beach has to offer.”
What is IMPACT 100?
IMPACT 100 Pensacola Bay is an organization of women committed to improving their community by providing grants to local non-profits.
Since IMPACT has no paid employees, they are able to give 100 percent of each member’s annual giving back to the non-profit organizations.
Fascinating fact: IMPACT has funded 57 grants totalling over $6M since 2004.
